The Last Phantom [dynamite]

Dynamite Entertainment a acquis les droits du Phantom, créé par Lee Falk et jusque-là édité par Moonstone Comics. A partir d'août, Dynamite lancera une nouvelle série, The Last Phantom, par Scott Beatty et Eduardo Ferigato sous couvertures d'Alex Ross.





L'histoire présente l'actuel Kit Walker qui refuse le manteau du Phantom et s'occupe de la Walkabout Fondation, une organisation créée par sa famille pour veiller aux intérêts des pays africains. Seulement, le destin semble devoir le mener à porter le costume quand même...

Mouais. Je suis fan du Phantom pour son classicisme et sa dynastie. L'histoire ne semble pas mauvaise mais vue et revue : il faudra six épisodes où Kit s'en prend plein la tête pour devenir le Phantom. C'est classique de chez classique, et c'est du vu cent fois.
Dommage. Je suivrais peut-être, j'hésite encore.

Ross sait toujours faire des couvertures iconiques, c'est juste toujours la même chose. J'aime bien cependant.

Les #2 et #3 rattrapent la déception du #1. Ca ne vole pas très haut mais c'est plus ou moins au niveau des productions Moonstone. Je regrette un peu le parti pris de voir si peu la Walkabout Fondation, qui me semblait une idée intéressante d'un Phantom ayant voulu ranger les armes pour aider le monde d'une autre façon. J'ai l'espoir d'en voir plus dans les autres flash backs à venir. C'est finalement une moins grosse catastrophe que prévu.

par contre je pensais qu'il s'agissait d'une mini série, mais cela a l'air d'être une série régulière

Oui, j'en suis persuadé. Dynamite n'aurait pas racheté les droits à Moonstone pour "juste" une mini-série, je pense qu'ils veulent se positionner comme les éditeurs des personnages connus de tous aux Etats-Unis mais qui ne viennent pas/plus de DC ou Marvel. C'est pour ça Buck Rogers, Warlord of Mars, Green Hornet et The Phantom.

Ça suit la continuité de la série de Moonstone?

Pas du tout.

Ca m'a tué de savoir que Ross n'a que 41 ans.
