Astonishing X-Men #36-42 [Cover]

Après un run de trois ans plutôt chaotique Warren Ellis laisse sa place au scénario à Daniel Way qui sera accompagné aux dessins par Jason Pearson. Les X-Men (seront-ils uniquement quatre comme sur la couverture?) affronteront des monstres tels Monstro, Octopus, Fing Fang Foom ou Mentallo.

La chute de l'ambition de Marvel pour cette série est assez impressionnante.

Je suis presque étonné qu'elle continue, et ça commence à faire beaucoup de titre pour le trio Cyke, Emma et Wolvie. Et puis bon Daniel Way, c'est pas le pire mais c'est loin d'être le meilleur...

Les deux covers sont superbes, mais bon Way j'ai tendance à m'en méfier, j'ai jamais été trop emballé par ce que j'ai lu de lui.

Pourtant la série Deadpool est plutôt sympa et Dark Wolverine aussi.

Dark Wolverine je découvre juste, j'ai surtout en tête ce que j'ai lu de lui sur Wolverine Origins en fait, et ça c'est pas top.

C'est bizarre parce que l'arc de Way et Pearson commencé dans le #36 est censé être en quatre parties, c'est pas très clair ce qu'ils expliquent dans le pitch là. Même si on se doutait que le Fauve reviendrait tôt ou tard chez les X je pensais pas que ce serait si rapide! Concernant la couverture c'est bien meilleur que ce que nous sert Larocca d'habitude (je trouve juste le visage de Storm raté, il fait un peu adolescente de manga). En tout cas je suis bien content de voir Gage arriver sur ce titre!

Moi je trouve qu'Asto perd tout son charme et sa spécificité.

En même temps, son charme a disparu depuis le départ de Whedon.
Et en même temps, je ne lui ai jamais trouvé tant de charme que ça.

Comme Ara, je suis assez content que Gage arrive sur un titre X, vu ce qu'il a fait sur Initiative, Academy ou même les divers mini sur HoM, il peut faire quelque chose d'excellent avec les Xmen.

“MEANWHILE”
Cyclops, Emma, Wolverine and Armor are off in Japan dealing with giant monsters. Meanwhile, something dire happens that demands the attention of the X-Men. With their leaders away, should the X-Men deny their help? HELL NO! Storm, Colossus and Kitty Pryde join Beast and Agent Brand to take on the Brood. But when intergalactic law prevents the destruction of an enemy who can only be defeated by extermination, the X-Men have a problem. Are Storm and her crew up to the task? And what is Cyclops going to say when he learns of this? This adventure takes place at the same time as the MONSTROUS arc concurrently happening in Astonishing X-Men in a way never before seen!


Visiblement cette histoire est imbriquée dans l'arc de Way et Pearson. On peut supposer d'après ce qu'on peut lire ici que le Fauve ne retourne pas chez les X-Men puisque ceux-ci viennent épauler lui-même et l'agent Brand, même si on peut penser que c'est ici la première étape de son retour chez les mutants.

Et après avoir officialisé que Asto etait hors continuité, Marvel fait marche arrière et imbrique deux arcs en même temps. C'est panini qui va devoir gérer ça entre librairie et kiosque parce que vu les dessins, surtout sur l'arc de Gage, pas sur que la librairie fonctionne

Je parie une boite de thon à la tomate qu'on va avoir droit un combat entre Mecha-Armor et Fin Fang Foom (ou un autre des monstres géants qui vont apparaître).

C'est la suite de la "mini" série SWORD ?

Qui sait il y aura peut-être des liens mais je ne crois pas que cet arc ait vraiment été écrit pour ça, c'est juste normal que si des aliens (liés aux X-Men en plus) rappliquent le SWORD s'en mêle.

Bobillo il y a des trucs que j'aime et d'autre moins. Son Fauve est horrible je trouve
